The Nueva Vida Maternity Clinic, now opened in Central Laredo, offers women a convenient new location to receive prenatal and general gynecological services. "Nueva Vida" means "new life."
"Good prenatal care is so important to the health of the mother and baby," says Javier Compean, Director of Outpatient Services at Doctors Hospital of Laredo. "For a long time, central Laredo didn't have a maternity clinic, and many OB/GYN physicians are located in north Laredo. We knew there was a great need for this facility."

Wlfrano Sanchez, MD, and Johol Chan, DO, both OB/GYNs who are on the medical staff at Doctors Hospital and have served the community for many years, began seeing patients at Nueva Vida in August. They deliver babies and perform gynecological surgeries at Doctors Hospital.
"I've had the opportunity to meet many new patients since the clinic opened, and they're very pleased that these services are available so close to home," Dr. Sanchez says.
